About me
For the love of cooking...
I am Jana, born in Odessa, raised on the Black Sea, with the scent of the Eastern European cooking of my childhood. More than 25 years ago I came to Germany, raised four children here and found my second home.
My path
The passion
Cooking has always been my passion. My career first took me elsewhere, as a foreign language correspondent and later into accounting, but the kitchen remained the place where I truly came alive.
The push
After every family celebration, after every buffet for friends, I heard the same sentence:
“Jana, you have to do this for a living.”
Today that is exactly what I do.
With Mama Mia Events & Catering I bring together the three cuisines that have always been part of my life:
Eastern European cuisine
of my roots
Italian cuisine
which I fell in love with
Regional German cuisine
of my adopted home
Add to that my soft spot for baking and for long, creative breakfasts. What you get from me does not come off a production line. Every request gets my personal attention. Every dish is cooked with love, put together with care and handed over with joy.
Because for me, food is more than filling up. It is the moment when people come together.
